But Stearns already wanted a bigger boat from Luders and in late 1924 "G~D" was for sale through New York brokers Eldred. Not much yet known about her next owner George H Ward except that his father ran 'Ward's Rest Inn ' on Long Island. Young Ward started his career in Brooklyn and in 1925 married a girl called Clarabel Markle from Rochester. Very shortly after that he bought 'Ginger-Dot' and renamed her 'Patricia' (why?). He seems to have decided to sell again in 1926. Sometime after that he appeared in Centerport with a wife called Kathryn....and settled there. Ward was to be a lifetime pillar of the Long Island community.
What happened to Clarabel?
